Marlaine's Children; Items needed for container.

Marlaine with her children the first day of school.

Three of the younger boys posing with smiles.
The little girls eating their rice and beans.
Wide eyed wonder. Jerry taking her picture.
They all help take care of the babies.

We love all these precious children and want them to have a good life. There are many struggles in Haiti and Marlaine does the best she can to provide for these little children that have been placed in her care. It is a sacrifice of love. If you would like to help, go to Amazon.com and search for the wish list under Schmidt International Ministries. We have just a short time and small space left to place items for the kids into the container before we ship it.
God bless you! Linda Schmidt

Many months have gone by since I posted the last blog and now our container is full and ready to ship. The hurricanes did so much damage to the orphanage and destroyed much of the contents inside the building.
In the container we have 71 twin beds, 20 tables, 80 chairs, 2 refrigerators, 1 stove, 1 cooktop, 1 wall oven, kitchen cabinets, 1 computer, many doors and windows, food, clothes, dishes, toiletries, and some toys.
We are in great need now of diapers, baby food, formula, sanitary pads for the 40 teenage girls, shoes and clothes of all sizes, musical instruments for their band, school supplies, and back packs.
We are signed up with Amazon.com on their wish list and can supply a tax receipt for any donations.
Thank you,
Linda Schmidt V.P.

Latest project: Container going to Haiti orphanages

Marlaine's orphanages in Jacmel, Haiti need your help!
1. Marlaine Alix in Jacmel, Haiti with one of her workers as they work on construction of the boys' orphanage (right). 2. The girl's building sits behind the boy's building and is shown after the hurricane a few months ago. The damage was estimated at $50,000. We are sending building materials, appliances, food and clothing to help Marlaine. Jerry works part time in construction to raise money for our missionary work, and to find construction items to send to Haiti. (check him out) www.qwikandeasy.com/kyso
So far we have collected enough items to fill half of our 40 ft container that we hope to send to Marlaine very soon. She takes care of 70+ children in her orphanages in Jacmel and hundreds of other children in the schools, orphanages, and churches that she and her husband have founded and that others are running. That takes a lot of food and LOVE. Jerry will go soon to help them build their kitchens and bathrooms.
